Project:
- BHP is undertaking the Village Security Project which includes the installation of a new security door system to approximately 10,000 accommodation rooms at the 12 BHP iron ore villages in WA.
- 50% for FY21/22 and balance for FY22/23. Target achieved for FY21/22
- Supply chain for materials heavily impacted directly and indirectly by Covid
- Major labour resource shortages
- Serialised doors and frames for QA/QC traceability
- Move into larger premises to undertake project
- Setup production lines to achieve output
Scope:
Design a doorset to pass testing requirements of:
- AS1170.2 – region D
- AS5041
Manufacture and pre-hang doors in factory and package for transport to remote villages
Output 150 units per week
Supply bulk door hardware for site installation
